Optic Security Group undertakes RAAF base’s Communication Systems Contract for all fixed communications networks at the NACC Facilities
The Tindal RAAF Base situated in the Northern Territory is expected to receive a half-billion dollar cash injection over the next 10 years. After the announcement from the Federal Government that funding was approved for a new tranche of F-35A aircrafts, a $1.6 billions facilities upgrade was announced in order to house the new influx.
An F-35A Operational Precinct is to be included in the Tindal RAAF Base upgrade and will provide a secure precinct of F-35A operations for both No. 75 Squadron and other visiting Australian squadrons. A share of the half-billion dollar upgrade will be allocated to improve Australia’s own security measures. Space-based intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities will be supported, with an estimated $130 million to be spent on based antenna infrastructure.
It was only fitting that a seasoned security solutions company be contracted to reinforce the base’s own internal security. Optic Security Group, is to undertake the Communication Systems Contract which includes all fixed communications networks at the New Air Combat Capability (NACC) facilities being constructed. Works commence in 2017 and are due for completion in late 2019.
