Thriving in the West: Optic Security Group celebrates growth with new Perth office and a promotion

nicholasdynon

Optic Security Group is thrilled to announce the internal promotion of Patrick Hill to Operations Manager for the booming Western Australian market. With an extensive background in the security sector and a proven track record of successful projects, Patrick is set to lead the company's efforts in Perth, known by some as “the most isolated city in the world”.

Having accumulated over a decade of project experience, Patrick is a seasoned professional who has worked with major clients across data centres, universities, education, and healthcare. His dedication to excellence is underscored by his training with US foreign security agencies, where he contributed to a wireless network security project implemented in Western Australia.

Patrick currently heads a team of three specialist technicians, including Ean Wheeler, Matt Withnell & Shaun Jones, with recruitment to expand the team further currently underway. Ensuring we meet the needs of our high-calibre client base, the Optic team is complemented by a small number of local subcontractors. The team is also complemented by Customer Experience & Key Account Manager Bindi Johnston who works alongside an Australia-wide border agency client, plus the group's National Solutions Estimator Russel Walker.

The Group's focus on key sectors such as border and port operations, mining, resources, data centres, and tertiary education, has positioned it as a sought-after partner for large maintenance contracts. The team's dedication to service excellence aligns with the Group's commitment to becoming an integral part of the Perth region's business landscape.

Reporting to Regional Manager West (NT & WA) Jobe Rout, Patrick and his team are strategically positioning themselves for sustained growth, mirroring the success of Optic Security Group's Northern Territory operations. With its strong foothold in core business operations, Optic has seamlessly integrated itself into the operations of clients such as NT Police, Darwin Airport, and NT Government Hospitals.

Jobe expressed his confidence in the Perth operations, anticipating they will follow the trajectory of success achieved elsewhere. “Patrick and his experienced team are focused on securing large service and maintenance contracts, and laying the groundwork for future solution integration projects,” he said. The new Optic Security Group office located at 70 Malaga Drive, Malaga, is definitely open for business.

As Optic Security Group continues to expand its presence in the Western Australian market, our new and Patrick's promotion underscores the company's commitment to providing top-notch security solutions and becoming a trusted partner for businesses, large enterprise, and critical infrastructure in the region’s future.

Security Advisory

Be vigilant. There has been an increase in reports of false billing scams. If you have received an email with an invoice purporting to be from us, call your Optic Security Group contact person to confirm if it is legitimate. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s National Anti-Scam Centre has reported a 25% increase in losses incurred by Australians from false billing scams in the July-September 2023 quarter compared to the same period last year. This is despite an overall 16% decrease in losses across scam categories.

Payment redirection scams are the most prevalent type of false billing scams. These involve scammers impersonating a business or its employees via email and requesting that money, which usually is owed to the legitimate business, is paid into a fraudulent account. For further information, visit the National Anti-Scam Centre website at https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/.

Optic Security Group will never advise a change of bank details via email. If you have received an email with an invoice purporting to be from us, call your Optic Security Group contact to confirm if it is legitimate.
